Would you Rather?; Christmas Edition

Hello everyone!! I saw this "Would You Rather; Christmas Edition" circling around the blogging world and thought I would give it a go as well. I love playing would you rather and it can be quite funny haha.
Hope you enjoy reading!!

Have to sing Jingle Bells loudly every time you walk into a room or wear a Santa Suit to work/school every day for a week?
I would wear a Santa suit every day for a week because its not that bad as having to sing every time to you enter a room. As much as I love singing, wearing the santa suit sounds more fun.

Not celebrate Christmas this year or not celebrate your birthday this year?

I am going to go with not celebrate my birthday (next year), 19 birthdays are not that exciting. I'll still turn a year older just not celebrate it right?

Have Frosty the Snowman for a friend or Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer?
Frosty would melt after a while and that would mean I'd lose him as my friend so I'll go with Rudolph even though I am not his biggest fan.

Have Mistletoe hanging in your bedroom doorway, or have a large decorated Christmas Tree in your bedroom doorway?
The tree would get in the way and would be difficult to get past. The mistletoe would be a nice little decoration haha.

Write a Five Paragraph Essay about the meaning of Christmas or solve a page of Christmas themed maths problems?
As weird as this sounds this is a tough one haha. I really enjoy writing essays for some reason and doing maths problems can actually be fun if they aren't too hard. I’ll go with the essay I guess.

Have a job wrapping presents at the mall or have a job taking photographs of children sitting on Santa's lap at the mall?

I love photography so taking the pictures even though that is a little creepy. I enjoy wrapping presents as well but after a while I get bored and end up wrapping the presents up any old way so they turn out a little messy. I do like putting pretty ribbon and things like that on my parcels but I'll stick to the picture taking.

See The Nutcracker or Dance in the Nutcracker?
I have always wanted to see The Nutcracker. I am an actor not a dancer therefore wouldn't want to dance in it.

Be given £100 for Christmas to spend on yourself or be given £1000 before Christmas to buy presents for other people?

I'll take the £1000 to spend on other people, I love buying presents for people that aren't myself. Its so much fun buying something for someone else.

Have a nose that glows red like Rudolf's or have pointy ears like an elf?

If I had a nose that glowed it would be easier to notice therefore I would be called names all the time whereas if I had pointy ears I could just cover them with my hair.

Be one of Santa's Elves or be one of Santa's Reindeer?

I’d prefer to be an elf. I mean a flying reindeer is pretty cool but working in Santa’s workshop sounds like great fun!!

Thank you so much for reading & hope you have a lovely day!!

Christmas Excitement!!

Do you ever just get so festive and excited about Christmas you can't contain yourself? Well that has been me this week; suddenly I got this feeling about how excited I was about Christmas. Over the last few years, I have not gotten this feeling and was beginning to think the spirit of Christmas had disappeared and the true meaning of Christmas was lost but not this year. I can officially say I think I am done with my Christmas shopping this year (which is a first) unless I truly want to spoil people this year. I have been singing Christmas songs non-stop and have bought a few festive jumpers. The only thing I have not done yet is put my decorations up but only two more days for me and then I can get my tree up and things. This year is the first year in a while that I can truly go out on Christmas presents for people and not worry about money problems, which has been lovely. It is also the first year that I have had a job therefore I have experienced Christmas shopping from behind the scenes in a way, dealing with other peoples shopping problems rather than my own. Next week is the last week of college of 2014 and I am so ready for a little break, it’s been a crazy experience the last few months but I need to relax for a while. I cant wait to finish up so I can probably get into wrapping presents and doing some festive baking/crafts. I am planning on making some cookies and cupcakes with my little cousins then hopefully making some clay baubles for their tree. I have planned a full day for us to do exciting things but knowing me something will come up and I will not get round to doing it. The purpose of this post is to really say how exciting the festive season is for me this year and I hope that every year will be like this. I also wanted to break up my posts before I post another Christmas tag post. I know tags are repetitive on my blog but when I have been as busy as I have been trying to get posts up has been a difficult task therefore tags are easy to put up. Once I have finished from college though I’ll have a little more time to put that extra bit of effort into my posts.

Thanks for reading & I hope you have a lovely day!!

Fifteen Festive Favourites

Hello everyone!!

I seen the lovely Jenna from chicgeekdiary  do a post called Fifteen Festive Favourites and decided that I would do it as well. Here are my fifteen!

01. Favourite Festive Food

I love mince pies, its like an essential when it comes to the Christmas period I stock up on mince pies to last the full month of December, I love them with double cream. My favourite park of Christmas dinner though is the pigs in blankets & the bread sauce, yum!

02. Favourite Reindeer

It’s definitely not Rudolph, I do not see why he gets all the attention. I would probably go with Comet.

03. Favourite Day of Christmas
Christmas Eve!! I enjoy the day a lot more than Christmas itself, I spend it wrapping gifts and baking cookies and watching Christmas movies or singing Christmas songs.

04. Favourite Christmas Song
Oh, it has to be Born on Christmas Day by Brad Paisley. I just love it!! I really like Christmas Lights by Coldplay as well, it’s such a nice little song.

05. Favourite Present

Last year I received one of the best Christmas presents I have ever received and that was Dolly Parton tickets (she is my idol). My mum told me that she was not able to get me tickets for Glasgow because I was in Belgium when she was here but I asked for tickets anywhere. Then on Christmas last year I was given a massive box wrapped up, upon unwrapping it I was faced with another box then another and another. Once opening them all up I found a CD (that my dad made for me) containing Dolly Parton songs and the ticket confirmation to see her live in Manchester. Them or my DSLR camera (my lil baby)

06. Favourite Festive Film

This is a hard one for me, I love so many. Some of my favourites are The Grinch, Home Alone (1-4) The Santa Clause (1-3), Jingle All the Way, The Nightmare before Christmas, Christmas with the Kranks, Arthur Christmas, Nativity & ELF.

07. Favourite Festive Cracker Toy

I always think cracker toys are a bit rubbish and there is not one that springs to my mind that I have got and loved. I always seem to be the one that gets a bottle opener or something silly like that.

08. Favourite Cracker Joke
I must admit that I just googled this because I couldn't remember any Christmas related jokes but I found a good one;

What does Miley Cyrus have at Christmas?
Twerky!

09. Favourite Christmas Decoration
I love Christmas nutcracker (soldiers). I just think they are lovely decorations and always seem to buy one during the Christmas season. I have found a new love for weird decorations such as animals in tutus, I think they are hilarious and even though they are a little bit stupid, I love them.

10. Favourite Christmas Candle Scent
I’m one for sweet scents such as Christmas cookies or something similar. I also have a love for all things Cinnamon scented or spiced apple flavours. One of my favourite to burn during the run up to Christmas is Yankee candle’s salted caramel, it is for sure one of my favourite scents ever!!!

11. Favourite Christmas TV Advert
The new Sainsbury’s advert has now become a firm favourite of mine. Every year everyone writes about how it’s not Christmas until you have seen the Coca Cola advert but not for me. I love the Irn Bru Christmas advert with the snowman, they fly over Glasgow and it really gets me into the Christmas spirit.

12. Favourite Festive Tradition
I started a new tradition of my own last year that every Christmas eve I would bake something and I cannot wait to do it again this year. Ever since I was a kid it was always a tradition to go to George Square to see the Christmas lights & the nativity, as I have gotten older I still keep this tradition up but also take a trip to the ice skating. Its also tradition to go to my Gran’s for Christmas dinner, a tradition I will never get tired of.

13. Favourite Place to Spend Christmas

I have never spent Christmas away from home so I guess home would be my favourite place to spend Christmas. I would one-year love to go away somewhere, having only experienced Disney World in the summer I imagine going for Christmas would be amazing.

14. Favourite Christmas Fact

Another one I'm having to google because I wanted to find one that I didn't even know myself. (This is not a favourite fact it’s just random)

The Germans made the first artificial Christmas trees out of dyed goose feathers

15. Favourite Snowman Accessory

does his carrot nose count? It would not be a snowman without one.

There you go my Fifteen Festive favourites. It is a little different from doing the same boring old Christmas tag every year because my answers do not tend to change that much from year to year.

Thank you so much for reading as I had a lot of fun doing this & I hope you do it as well!!

Christmas Baubles

Untitled #408
Hello everyone!!

Recently I have been on the hunt for some crazy looking baubles for my Christmas tree this year and I thought I would share a few of my favourites. This year I have seen many shops bring out animal baubles with tutus and sparkly outfits on them and I LOVE them!! The French Bulldog was the first one I ever seen of them but the more I looked I saw a lot of places have jumped on the band wagon and brought out ones as well. Sticking with the dog theme, I love the look of wooden Christmas decorations and I a little pug one. There is a few of these pug ones with Santa hats on and things and I just think they are adorable. Christmas pudding baubles this year are also becoming a favourite of mine; the first one with the moustache is just great. It adds a little something special to the standard Christmas pudding, the other one is very traditional but I really like it. Keeping with the food theme, I managed to find a cute little brussels sprout bauble, I think I may need to buy it. The last one is the least cute but I like it because it is a little different, it’s a brain. Now I know brains have nothing to do with Christmas but I just really like this one and it would add some humour to my Christmas tree.

Hope you enjoyed seeing the Christmas baubles I have had my eye on this year & I hope you have a lovely day.

5 Things That Made My Week!!

5 Things That Made My Week

1. Getting my tattoo and falling in love with it. For a long time I have been wanting a tattoo but after winning a voucher for a local tattoo studio, I decided to finally go for it. I got a Daisy chain wrapped around my wrist and it’s beautiful, I can’t stop looking at it.

2. Going to my first job interview and getting the job. I had my job interview on Monday and was so nervous but it went amazingly. As it was my first interview, I did not know what to expect but the woman who interviewed me was great. I found out on the Wednesday that I got the job and I could not be happier. It is only a job for Christmas but it is better than nothing and there is always a chance of getting kept on permanent.

3. My anatomy exam being cancelled. Yes, I do wish that I got it out the way but it was a huge relief to hear the words from my lecturer that it was cancelled. It means I get an extra week to study for it so I will for sure pass.

4. Getting tickets for the Glasgow Christmas Lights switch on. Every year I always I go along with my cousin who gets the tickets but this year I managed to get them for myself. After looking on facebook, I seem to be the only one who did because I do not know anyone else who got them. Its always fun to go see them getting switched on even though it rains nearly every year.

5. Friday night with the squad. My friends and I are now known as the “SQUAD” and on Friday night we had one of the best nights ever at the student union. I love going out with my friends for a drink or two and having such a laugh. We took over the jukebox and played songs from the 80s which was great as we were the only ones singing.

Thank you for reading what made my week this week and I hope you all had a lovely week!!

Merry Christmas!!!

Merry Christmas everyone!! I hope everyone gets what they wanted and have a lovely day!! I got DOLLY PARTON tickets for Manchester in June which I cannot believe, I was told we couldn't get them but when I finally got to the last box (they wrapped a CD in about 10 boxes) and tore it open to reveal a CD telling me I was going to see her I couldn't believe it and actually started crying. I also got lots more and I'm truly blessed. I hope you all have a lovely day whatever you are doing.

Mince Pies & Gingerbread Cupcakes..

Hello Everyone!! Its Christmas Eve, I can't actually believe how fast this year has been. I'm currently sitting on my bed surrounded by presents that need to be wrapped up but I'm just not in the mood for wrapping. I've been putting it off for days now and really must do it but instead I'm typing up this blog post.

Today's post is a cooking/DIY style post, last night my older sister and I both decided it was a good idea to start baking. Earlier in the week Tanya Burr put up a youtube video on how to make gingerbread cupcakes with toffee icing and mince pies so we followed her video which you can find here. They were really easy to make and super yummy. My first batch didn't turn out so well as I left them in for 5 minutes too long but they were still good to eat and everyone enjoyed them. These treats are great for a night like tonight, it's Christmas Eve and here in Glasgow its miserable. It hasn't stopped raining (icy rain) all day so its a perfect night to either bake these delicious treats and then curl up with a Christmas movie on.

Today is the last day of blogmas, I've really enjoyed posting every day till Christmas even though I did struggle in the middle of the month to think of some ideas. I know I didn't exactly announce I was doing it but I loved it and its got me more determined to blog more throughout 2014. I will probably post tomorrow just wishing everyone a merry Christmas. I hope you all have a lovely day/evening!!

Christmas Tag...

Hello everyone!! Yesterday I know I said I would post the pictures from the pantomime today but I haven't had time to upload them on to my laptop but hopefully I'll post them soon. Today I'm going to be doing another Christmas tag which I seen Jenna from chicgeekdiary do so I thought I would do it aswell.

What is your favourite thing about Christmas?
I love everything, getting to spend some time with family, the atmosphere  the lights/decorations, just everything about it really.

When you were a kid, what did you leave for Santa on Christmas Eve?
Some biscuits or a mince pie & a glass of milk for Santa & a carrot for Rudolph

Do you and/or your family have any Christmas traditions?
Going to my Grans on Christmas day is the main tradition and really the only one we have.

When decorating, do you go all out or just do a small amount of decorating?
Small amount, mostly just a tree and some lights around the house nothing too major.

What is your favourite Christmas dinner food?
Everything is my favourite!! I love pigs in blankets, they are simply delicious and I like turkey with gravy and potatoes and everything else we normally have.

What is your favourite Christmas movie?
I have too many and I have done a post on my favorite Christmas movies if you want to go have a little look.

What is your favourite Christmas song?
Born  on Christmas Day by Brad Paisley. I love how the song starts off with him singing as a boy and then goes onto him singing now, its a special song that I listen to on repeat in the lead up to Christmas

What was your favourite gift you've ever received?
My DSLR camera that I received last year. Its my pride and joy!!

What is your favourite memory?
Spending time with my family every year is my favourite, it reminds me of how grateful I really am to actually spend Christmas with my family.

Does it snow where you live?
Yeah it does, sometimes it doesn't stick because it's normally been raining just before it so the ground is already too wet which sucks.

Do you own an "ugly holiday sweater"?
Nope but I'm going to buy one in about half an hour because tomorrow at school is Christmas jumper day so I need to go buy one.

Hot chocolate or eggnog?
I have never tried eggnog and I don't think I ever will if I'm honest, it just doesn't appeal to me so hot chocolate. I love putting whipped cream and marshmallows on top/

Have you ever been kissed under a mistletoe?
I haven't, I'm never actually seen real mistletoe which may sound like a shock but sadly it's true.

I hope you all enjoyed reading and I tag you to do it aswell!!

My Christmas Wishlist 2013

My Christmas Wishlist

Hello everyone!! I thought I would show you some of the things on my wishlist this year, I took items from each category on my list & made a little collage.

1. Tartan dress - This one is from new look and I've seen it in stores and love it, its such a pretty dress and fits in with the tartan trend aswell.

2. Camera Lens Mug - I have wanted one of these for the longest time. Its such a novelty gift but it represents my love for photography.

3. Edge You Think You Know Me DVD - I am a major wrestling fan and Edge is one of my favorites so it wouldn't be right if I didn't own his DVD.

4. Mini Zara Office Bag - There was a massive hype on the blogging world a few months ago for the original office bag from Zara but I much prefer the smaller one as its cute but very practical. I have been needing a new bag for a few months as my last few bags zips are broken so this would be perfect.

5. Topshop Lipstick in Screen Siren - I have only ever owned nail polish from the Topshop makeup range and when I seen this colour of lipstick I just knew I had to add it to my Christmas list.

6. Chunky Knits Wash Bag - This must be the cutest wash/makeup bag I've seen and I feel the need to own it as my other makeup bags don't live up to this standard.

What have you asked for this Christmas?

I hope you enjoyed seeing some of the items on my Christmas wishlist this year. Have a lovely day!!

Gift Guide for Book Lovers

Books :)

Hello everyone!! As I have already done a book gift guide for children, I thought I would share some book ideas for those people in your life that love books but are not children. Hope you get some inspiration and find the perfect book for someone special.

Post Secret - Frank Warren once had an idea for an art project which involved him handing out postcards and asking people to write down a secret but anonymously. Most of the secrets are pretty weird and some are really emotional.

Listography - This book is perfect for list makers, at the top of each page there is a title and below is to create the list based on the theme.

Q&A  - I own this book and its a great little book to start your day but also a way of remembering and then in the future seeing how things have changed. Each day you are asked a question and over the course of 5 years you answer and see if things have changed or stayed the same.

My Wonderful World of Fashion - This book is like a colouring book for those that are passionate about fashion and drawing.

Teen Vogue Hand BookThis book is the mix of beautiful pictures, career advice and profiles of everyone and every aspect of the fashion industry. Perfect for anyone interested in a career in the fashion industry.

642 Things to Write About - This book is great for those that love to write, the book gives a prompt and inspiration to write stories. Its a perfect way to help your creativeness pour out of you.

The Travel Book - I own this book and I love it. The Travel Book captures the essence of every country on the planet through stunning photographs and atmospheric text

Music Listography & Film Listography - These books are very much like the original Listography book only they are more suited to music & film lovers.

Wreck This Journal - Wreck This Journal is a fantastic book for those creative people out there, its a book full of ideas on how to destroy it in many unique ways.

Hope you enjoyed reading & found some useful gift ideas.

Oh Christmas tree, Oh Christmas tree!

Hello everyone!! Today I finally set up my Christmas tree so I thought I would show you some pictures of it.

In the past few years my tree has been a little crazy but this year I went with a theme of red, white & blue with some pink and gold chocolates for the tree. My room is starting to look more festive now since I put it up and now I can't wait to put our family tree up.

Hope you enjoyed reading!!

Its Not In the Presents, its in His presence

Hello everyone, I saw this picture on Pinterest and thought it was so true. Nowadays Christmas is very comeralised and everyone becomes so stressed out about buying gifts for their loved ones. The real meaning of Christmas isn't there anymore for most people and at this time of the year you shouldn't think about the gifts but think about Jesus and the real meaning of Christmas.

Hope you have a lovely day!!

Christmas Bucket List Tag

Hello everyone, I seen a few people do the Christmas Bucket List Tag and thought it was a really good idea. I finish school on the 20th so I don't have a lot of free time but I want to try and get these things done before Christmas.

1. Go Ice Skating at George Square - I got every year and it's great fun. Ice skating outside definitely beats indoors.

2. Bake some Christmas treats - I really want to make some mince pies, Christmas cookies or gingerbread men this year. My sister and I have actually decided a couple of days before Christmas we are going to have a day filled with baking.

3. Put up my tree and decorations - I normally put mine up on the 13th because of the whole 12 days before Christmas tradition and this year is no different. I love putting up my lights and decorating my tree, its one of my favourite things about Christmas.

4. Watch some Christmas films - I haven't watched a single one yet so I need to dig mine out and get them watched

5. Make my Christmas cards - I have all the crafts to make the cards I want but I just haven't got around to doing so yet.

I hope you all enjoyed this tag and if you do it please leave a link below

How I Spend My Christmas Tag

Hello everyone, I seen Emma from thebrunettebeautyblogger do the how I spend my Christmas tag and I thought I would do it aswell.

What are you usually up to on Christmas Eve?
Normally I'm doing some last minute wrapping & just getting ready for Christmas really. I spend most of my day in my pyjamas if not all day, I watch some Christmas movies either the ones on TV or my DVDs, drink some hot chocolate. I unfortunately don't have any traditions like going to people's houses or anything like that.

Who do you spend your Christmas day's with?
I spend it with my mum, dad, older sisters, gran, uncle, auntie and cousins at my Gran's house for Christmas dinner.

Do you enjoy giving or receiving gifts?
I'm sure everyone enjoys receiving gifts but I also love giving, its nice just to give back to those important people in my life.

What does your outfit consist of on Christmas Day?
While opening my presents I'm in my pyjamas until about midday then I get into something a little bit more fancier. If I get any clothing for Christmas I wear that or I stick on a nice dress.

Do you enjoy shopping for your loved one's gifts?
I love shopping for them.

Have you ever received a gift that you disliked and pretended you liked it?
I can't remember any gifts that I've gotten that I didn't like, I'm sure there has been a few but I can't remember them.

What would your ideal Christmas be?
Every Christmas I always think it's pretty perfect, spending it with my family at my Gran's. Maybe some snow would top it off though.

What is your least favourite thing about Christmas?
How commercialised it has gotten, the real meaning of Christmas isn't really there now.

What is the best gift you have ever received?
Wow that's a hard one, probably my DSLR I think.

If you could choose one person to spend Christmas with who would it be and why? (Other than family)
Oh just probably my friends I guess, I wouldn't really want to spend it with anyone else other than my family.

Hope you enjoyed reading & I tag you all to do this x
